The Special School Nursing Team in Barnet are seeking a B6 nurse who is a highly motivated, enthusiastic and caring individual to work within a team who support children and young people from 4-19 years who have a range of learning disabilities and complex health needs.
Your role will be to provide a comprehensive nursing service to the children attending Northway and Oak Lodge Special Schools and to support the families and education staff to manage the pupils’ health needs. You will work flexibly within the team to enable us to provide a service to all the special schools in Barnet.
The nursing team works closely with education and other agencies to ensure the children achieve their full potential.
The post is offered as 22.5hrs/week full time or TTO. Days of work can be flexible.
The applicant must possess excellent communication skills, be flexible to the needs of the children and the service and have good organizational skills.
The applicant must be able to demonstrate knowledge of safeguarding, have some previous experience of working with children with complex needs in the community and preferably school nursing or children’s community nursing experience.
Some teaching experience is necessary.
School visits are welcomes by prior arrangement.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
